Jean loved her garden, her birds and her red squirrels. Every time we were able to visit her home I was blessed with being able to share her love for this sanctuary. We did little jobs together and I was only too happy to help her. We moved plants, changing the flower beds, pruning and clearing the bottom garden. I loved doing these chores for her and myself.

We spent many hours strolling around her favourite garden centres and the last weekend we spent with her we went to three different centres to find a certain coloured rose. We never did find the right colour but just wandering around the centres with her was always lovely.

Jean always said that when I arrived on the island the squirrels knew because they always turned up and I took great joy in watching Jean's squirrels and the many birds that visited her wonderful and loved garden.
